Different Erectile Dysfunction Treatments

There are many Erectile dysfunction or impotence treatments approved by the FDA. Erectile dysfunction or Impotence is considered the inability to create or keep an erection for an extended period of time. Erectile dysfunction or Impotence is not described as times where an erection cannot be obtained occasionally. One out of every five encounters is considered normal for Erectile dysfunction symptoms to occur; any more than this should be discussed with a doctor.

The Erectile dysfunction treatments range from 2 types of surgery to medication to penis pumps or ED pumps. ED pumps or penis pumps are noninvasive and can be used in the privacy of your own home at any time prior to sexual intercourse. Surgery such as the penile implant can take up to 6 weeks of recovery time, and even then there is no guarantee that a man will not need medication or pumps to help him gain an erection. Pumps are suggested for all men who undergo prostate surgery or injury to the penile area to help recuperate the tissues and keep them from atrophying. The other surgical option is to have the blood flow to the penis rerouted so that the penis gets better circulation and thereby can obtain and hold an erection easier. It should be noted that for this surgery, blood vessels from surrounding areas are used to supplement the penis, so you will lose slight blood flow to these areas.

There are many options for Erectile dysfunction, many of which seem like a good idea when you hear them. Erectile dysfunction treatments almost always start with the pumps and then move on to medications and surgery is generally a last resort for all cases. Erectile dysfunction does not have to be a permanent problem for a man, all it takes is a conversation with a doctor.
