Erectile Dysfunction Treatments: ED Pumps

There are many men who suffer from impotence or Erectile dysfunction annually in the US. Up to 1 in 5 men under the age of 50 and 1 in 8 men over 50 have been seen to have symptoms of Erectile dysfunction or Impotence each year. It is considered normal for a man to have Impotence or Erectile dysfunction symptoms up to 20% of the time, but for a prolonged period of time or the inability to get an erection should be reported to a physician.

Impotence commonly goes unreported due to the idea that this is something that is embarrassing. More men suffer from Impotence than is reported, so figures could be even higher. The treatments for Impotence are more commercialized and promoted today than in prior years, making Impotence more acceptable a topic. Impotence is not a problem that should be ignored in any case. Underlying causes such as diabetes, kidney failure, high or low blood pressure, stress, atherosclerosis, heart conditions as well as smoking or alcohol can affect sexual health. In order to rid the body of the ED problems, the underlying causes must be addressed. Many men simply do not want to admit they cannot perform, but there are ways of treating ED without embarrassing medications.

There are 3 medications approved by the FDA for treatment of ED, all of which have side effects and requirements for medical history prior to taking them. The most common treatment is ED pumps or penis pumps. Penis pumps or ED pumps are very commonly used by men who do not have ED to help add length to the penis prior to sexual encounters. ED pumps and penis pumps can be less expensive than drugs, and have a longer life span. With no side effects and immediate results, pumps are the most common offered treatments.
